The foundation Manfred-Hermsen-Stiftung is an independent foundation with legal capacity under civil law based in Bremen. It was approved in 2001 by the Senator of the Interior, Culture and Sports (equivalent to Ministry) of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen (equivalent to a federal state) in accordance with §80 German Civil Code in conjunction with §4 Bremen Law on Foundations. The Executive Board represents the Manfred-Hermsen-Stiftung in and out of court through the Chairman together with another member of the Executive Board.
